#28: Too Busy To Be Killed

One day several years after the battle of Waterloo, Wellington was interrupted in his office by an unexpected visitor. "I must kill you!" the man cried, rushing in.
"Does it have to be today?" Wellington asked, scarcely gazing up from his work. "Well, they didn't tell me," the intruder replied with apparent confusion. "But soon, surely."

"Good," Wellington remarked. "A little later on then, I'm busy at the moment."

[Incredibly, the intruder (an escaped lunatic) obediently left, and was soon collected by the police.]
